Dear Svaroopa®® yoga Community,
Master Yoga's studio in West Chester, Pennsylvania, was consumed by fire last night, Wednesday, August 22 around midnight.
The fire is presumed to have started in the electrical wiring in the drop down ceiling. The exact cause is under investigation by the Fire Marshall, but arson has been ruled out.
No one was present at the time of the fire and no one was hurt.
The building is a total loss. Rama and the students arrived at the site at 6:30 am to discover the charred remains of the building. Firemen had arrived in time during the early morning to save the neighboring building, which is owned and occupied by our landlord.
The landlord graciously offered a large room in his building to Rama and the students in the Vichara Training Course so that they could complete the final day of the training by beginning an inquiry into how the fire affected them.
The Board of Directors and Administrative staff have begun working on a short-term solution for upcoming courses. The next program begins on Sunday, September 16 and we plan to run all courses as scheduled.
As we get more answers, we will keep you informed. We will be sending photos of the building as wells as reports from the students in the current course.
We appreciate everyone's love and support. Rama says the best way you can support Master Yoga at this time is by "sending blessings, instead of worrying."
Namaste,
Master Yoga Board of Directors
